On the Black Sea coast, the tea harvest begins in late spring. Tea made from the first shoots of the plant after it rests through the winter is popularly called "May tea" or "first harvest".
Two leaves and a bud
In the first harvest, the freshest and most tender shoots of the plant are picked. The bud at the tip of the branch and the two leaves just below it are where the tea's aroma is most intense.
How does it taste?
May tea is known for its bright colour, smooth taste and distinct aroma. That's why, in Black Sea homes, tea from this harvest is set aside especially to be enjoyed throughout the year.
Why in a large pack?
May tea is produced once a year, over a limited period. Our 5 kg special production pack is designed so that your whole family can enjoy this first harvest for a long time.
